Hi, I’m Chelsea Cain and I created Fund the Story because I believe great stories deserve the chance to be told.

If you’re an author, you already know that writing the book is only part of the journey. Bringing that story to life means navigating editing, cover design, formatting, printing, marketing, and all the behind-the-scenes pieces that make publishing possible.

And if you’re a reader, then you know the magic of finding a book that stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page.

Fund the Story exists to connect those two worlds.

I’m a professional fundraiser with a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and more than 15 years of experience helping raise money for meaningful ideas and missions. I’m also a lifelong reader who knows firsthand how powerful stories can be.

Over the years, I kept seeing incredibly talented writers hit the same frustrating roadblock: they had stories worth sharing, but not always the financial resources to bring those stories into the world.

That’s where this platform comes in.

I created Fund the Story to give authors a way to raise the support they need while giving readers the opportunity to become part of a story’s journey before it ever reaches the bookshelf.

For authors, this is a place for coaching, guidance, resources, and fundraising support built specifically for the funds needed in the publishing process.

For readers, it’s a chance to discover and support emerging stories, help bring new books to life, and play a real role in the creative process.

There’s something really special about knowing you helped make a book possible.

At its heart, Fund the Story is about community.

It’s about connecting storytellers with the people who believe in the power of stories.

It’s about helping authors feel confident asking for support.

And it’s about making sure incredible books don’t stay stuck as unfinished drafts simply because funding felt out of reach.
